<blockquoteI have used Elements from Version 4 to Version 5 - and now to Version 6.  I was very happy with the performance of Version 5 and was reluctant to purchase Version 6, as it read like an evolution in the program - as compared to a revolution.  There were some items that got my attention - and, as it turns out, these made the purchase worthwhile.  The Organizer flows more quickly and looks better than that of Version 5.  I've tried the 'guided fix' process - but have returned to going directly to the 'full' edit process as I am comfortable working in that space.  Still - the guided approach will be a drastic improvement to the Version 5 'quick' fix and less intimidating than the 'full' edit approach.

<br />If you already use the 'full' edit - then there are some enhancements but probably not enough to warrant spending the bucks for the upgrade.  If you use the 'quick' approach and are uncomfortable with the 'full' edit approach - this version will help you in the process.

<br />Usually I have a if it ain't broke, don't fix it philosophy but decided to see if there were any updates/downloads.  I went to the Symantec download sight.  They said I was eligible for an update. I  thought it would be an update to NIS 2006 but instead ended up getting and update to NIS 2008.

<br />Installation took a while for this speedy laptop (like 10-15minutes).  It went flawlessly and i have been running on it for an hour with no problems.  I was not expecting a 
<br />free update.  Maybe it is because of past problems with NIS 2006.  The info just said i was eligible for an update with my current subscription.

<br />I have been buying Dell pc's since day one and they all come with some sort of Norton software.  To date I have not experienced the nightmares that some people have written about except for some ordering problems for some software that never came and it took many calls to get the problem resolved.

<br />So far I have not noticed any degradation in boot time or performance.  Like I said, the new software has only been running for a hour or so.  My rating would be 4 stars for now only because there has not been a lot of run time. </blockquote>

The first copy that I bought didn't work.  Kept getting a stop error.  Notified Amazon and got another copy sent out within days of my submitting for the exchange online.  Matter of fact I got my new copy before I even sent out the one that didn't work.  So thumbs up to Amazon for that one.  The operating system itself runs like a champ and was easy to install.  I've not switched to Vista yet because i've read too many negatives and not enough posatives from general users to computer geeks who want a flawless machine that boots up in seconds and NEVER has issues.  As for me, a typical daily user, I think it's top notch and won't go to Vista for several years if I can help it.</blockquote>
